Proposed Change to pupil admission numbers (consultation)
Consultation on proposal to lower the pupil admission number at Queensway Primary School
From September 2018
28th November 2016 – 9th January 2017
What is the proposal?
The Governing Body of Queensway Primary School is proposing to reduce the pupil admission number (PAN) from 30 to 24 starting in 2018.
Why is this being proposed?
The Governing Body has identified that the children in school are currently benefitting from being in smaller class size groups. This is resulting in opportunities for higher standards of teaching and learning. The impact is reflected in the high levels of attainment and progress the children are making across school and the end of Key Stage 2 assessment results.
The Governing Body would like to reduce the PAN to protect this high standard of provision for future intakes of children.
The Governing Body recognises that projected numbers for school admissions is not increasing for coming years and will therefore not be affected by the reduction in PAN at Queensway.
For these reasons, the Governing Body and Head Teacher are in favour of the proposal.
