Wow - half term came and went very quickly didn't it!
It's always nice to have a few days to go away and recharge the batteries, but as always it is also wonderful to see everybody back in school and raring to go. I hope everybody managed to get some quiet time (parents included!) and some quality time together.
I took my daughters, Sophia and Thea, to see their grandparents in the Lake District and managed to pop into school for a quiet day of hard work before having a 'dad day' to myself on Thursday - which was a lazy but lovely few hours once my list of chores was completed.
Whatever you did and wherever you went, I hope you enjoyed your week off, and it is my pleasure to welcome you all back into school for the second half of the academic year.
All of the class teachers have told me how well the pupils have returned to school, and it was great to see everybody enjoying Monday's Mind Mate day so much. I love the concept of the Mind Mate days and I think they set our pupils up nicely for the half term.
Speaking of setting ourselves up, this week's ethos assembly themed on our school value of 'Respect' also set a high standard for uniform, manners and learning behaviours, and I am pleased to see so many house points being handed out by staff linked to this value already.
Next week we will be welcoming Vikki Taylor from Benton Park School to come in and see our excellent maths and English theme morning in full swing, of which we should be very proud indeed. Let's show Mrs Taylor what makes Queensway great and let's show one of our local secondary schools our high standards of work and learning behaviours!
